Hormonal Imbalance

Hormone deficiency is a major cause for why you may not feel like yourself.

How are your hormone levels?

Hormone deficiency is a major cause for why you may not feel like yourself.

Hormonal Imbalance

Specifically, sex hormones, estrogen and testosterone, play large roles in your mood, energy level, the way the body stores fat and maintains bone and muscle mass, and regulates sleep. A man’s testosterone level can drop 1-3% per year. A woman’s testosterone level may decline 50% by the time she’s 40! We say “age is relative but our hormones are not!”

Complete

Hormone Testing

Testing your hormone levels is important for accurate diagnosis of your symptoms relating to menopause, andropause or thyroid imbalance. However, we know it’s important to treat the person and not just the result. You may have been told all your test results are “normal” yet you still struggle with your weight, fatigue, and brain fog. You need the complete picture. We’ll search for hidden causes as to why you feel off. Here at Full Circle Medical Group we believe in optimizing each level so that the end result is our patients feeling their best.

Insulin

Insulin is a fat storage hormone. Not often screened but important to test when trying to identify those who are struggling with fat loss or those who are at risk for diabetes or infertility. Insulin has receptors on fat cells and signal them to take up sugar. Insulin receptors also lie on women's ovaries and signal optimal function. However, women with issues such as infertility, menstrual irregularities or polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS have a problem with insulin recognition.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D, Yes, it's a hormone. The body makes most of this steroid hormone and we only get 10% from food. Your results will tell us what your optimal supplementation should be for your unique body. Researchers have expanded the role of VitaminD3's influence on bone health to include healthy immune system, insulin secretion by the pancreas, heart function, blood pressure regulation, brain development and cancer protection.

Sex Hormones Estrogen, Testosterone

Necessary for fertility but so much more. Hormones in general can be though of as messengers that act as the key to opening the door. There are locks or receptors throughout the body systems and hormones including estrogen, testosterone, and thyroid play an essential role for delivering "the key" to organs such as the breast, brain, bone, heart, and prostate.

Thyroid Hormone and Risk for Thyroid Dysfunction

A powerhouse hormone that influences every cell in the body and regulates the body's metabolism - the rate at which the body produces energy from nutrients and oxygen - and critical functions such as digestion and heart rate. One in eight women will have some form of thyroid dysfunction. An auto-immune disorder is the most common cause for low or high thyroid production. It is essential to identify those at risk with a complete thyroid panel and thyroid antibody testing. Up to 60 percent of those with thyroid disease are unaware of their condition.
